Post by UglyI'm wondering what are the dimensions of standard Monopoly Title Deed cards? Size, size
and type of fonts etc. The board itself? I'm interested just for fun to redesign it as a
more family-familiar game with local landmarks (I've never been to Atlantic City and my
wife hasn't been there for many many years so it doesn't mean as much.)
They actually vary depending on the edition and printer - I have eleven different Monopoly
sets, and there are at least six different Deed dimensions. US Deeds are not quite
square, but are closer to square than most overseas editions; most overseas editions are
narrower relative to height than the standard US deed. A convenient size to use for
handling is Bridge-sized playing cards; alternatively, you can use whatever size is
convenient for your printing stock, noting that you need a total of 28 Deeds (22 streets,
four railroads, two utilities).
Boards are a bit more uniform in size, always square, eighteen inches on a side.
I don't know if it's still available, or whether it was sued into oblivion, but a year or
so ago I saw a game called "Make-your-own-opoly", which supplied a "blank" board and
cards, software (for Windows IIRC), and instructions for a game that was very close to
Monopoly, but probably different enough to give the company's lawyers confidence that they
could avoid being taken down by ParkerHasbro. You might want to look into that as another
possibility.
